Solo Competitions

Pre-Beginner

(One step, one at a time)
Music Speed: Reel 122, Light Jig 115 

Beginner

(Two steps) For dancers who have not taken Irish Dance instruction from a registered teacher prior to September of the previous year.
Music Speed: Reel/Slip Jig 122,  Light Jig 115

Advanced Beginner

(Two Steps) For dancers who have completed one year in Beginner, and who have not already won  1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd in Advanced Beginner.
Music Speed: Reel/Slip Jig 122, Light Jig 115, Heavy Jig 92, Hornpipe 138

Novice

(Two Steps) For dancers who have placed 1^st,2^nd, or 3^rd in Advanced Beginner.
Music Speed: Reel/Slip Jig 113, Light Jig 115, Heavy Jig 73 or 92, Hornpipe 113 or 138

Prizewinner

For dancers who have won a 1^st in Novice competition.
Music Speed: Reel/Slip Jig 113, Heavy Jig 73 or 92, Hornpipe 113 or 138

Traditional Set

St. Patrick’s Day, Garden of Daisies, Job of Journey Work, Blackbird, Jockey to the Fair, King of the Fairies, Three Sea Captains.
Entrants in Preliminary and Open may not compete in Traditional Set.

Championships

There will be multiple stages to start. Dance choices must be indicated on entry form. Hard shoe will be danced first. All changes are subject to a $10.00 fee. Rotation numbers will be pre-assigned.

No changes will be allowed after October 26, 2022, or on the day of the Feis.

Preliminary Championships

Dancers will perform Reel or Slip Jig and Jig or Hornpipe.
Please indicate choices on entry form.

Girls and Boys

Preliminary Championship Set Competition

Open only to dancers in Preliminary Championship. Under 8 and Under 9 competitions will dance Tradtional Set

Open Championships

Dancers will perform THREE ROUNDS – Reel or Slip Jig, Jig or Hornpipe, and Set Piece of choice.
Hard shoe round will be danced first. Please indicate choices on entry form. Competitions with less than 3 boys will be combined with girls. Under 9 competitions will dance hard shoe, light shoe, and Traditional Set.

Entry Information

• Entries will close when we reach our cap of 650 dancers, even if that occurs before October 25, 2023
• October 23, 2023 – Last day to register and pay online without a late fee
• October 25, 2023 – Last day to register and pay online with a late fee of $25
• No entries will be accepted after October 23, 2023
• Online entries will be reviewed for confirmed payment and deleted if unpaid.

Sorry, no refund will be given for any entries.

All changes will be subject to a $15.00 fee. No changes will be made after October 25, 2023.

Entry Fees

$25 Entry Fee
$15 per dance, per competitor in Grades, traditional set, and preliminary set
$10 per team dance, per dancer (ALL dancers must register on FeisWeb for teams)
$50 per Preliminary Championship
$60 per Open Championship
$60 per adult championship*
$6 FeisWeb registry fee per family

$175 Maximum per Family, not including entry fee, FeisWeb registry fee.

*Adult dancers must not have competed in any competition (solo or team) at any feiseanna or Oireachtasi, except competitions specifically designated for adults or Dance Drama within the past five years and must be at least 18 years of age as of January 1, 2023.

Dancers should be prepared to dance half an hour before listed times.
