Passing on the tradition of Irish Dance

Lenihan has been an established part of Connecticut’s dance community for almost 4 decades.

Lenihan School of Irish Dance is Connecticut’s premiere Irish dance school. We provide a fun, inspiring environment for children and adults to learn Irish dance. Whether you choose to Irish dance recreationally or to achieve championship status, as many of our dancers have, Lenihan is the place to achieve your goals as well as gain lifelong friendships!

Students of the Lenihan School of Irish Dance are recognized and praised throughout the state for their outstanding performances. They are featured performers at festivals, weddings, fundraisers and a variety of other occasions. The Lenihan School has appeared on national and local television, and has performed with internationally known Irish talent such as Ronan Tynan, Black 47, Eileen Ivers, Searson, Stocktons Wing, The Elders, Cathie Ryan, Hal Roach, the New Haven Ballet and the Trinity Irish Dance Company.

Excellent training and dedication make Lenihan dancers champions. Year after year, our dancers bring home medals and trophies from New England Regionals, North American Championships, European Nationals, and All Ireland Championships. Additionally Lenihan dancers excel as international competitors when they earn the honor to dance at World Championships. The Lenihan School of Irish Dance also has the distinction of winning over 78 World Championship Medals in both solos and teams.

The Lenihan Philosophy
Fun

A number one priority for our students: have fun. There is nothing more important to us than seeing the happiness of students enjoying time with their dance family while learning.

Fitness

Fitness is on the minds of parents these days. Keeping active leads to good habits and healthy kids (and grownups). Irish Dance is a sport that will get students feet moving and heart pumping.

Dedication

Students will learn the personal benefit of putting time and effort into the dance. A most positive lesson to learn is that Lenihan students can do what they put their minds to.

Teamwork

Students are taught and encouraged to aim for their personal best. Students will not only achieve this, but they will also have opportunities to take their talent and learn how to contribute to the accomplishments of a group.

What's happening

The accomplishments of Lenihan students are recognized throughout Connecticut and around the globe. Our dancers medal in New England, North American and worldwide.
